Il Sempervivum tectorum è una pianta succulenta perenne nota anche come “barba di Giove” o “semprevivo dei tetti”. Appartiene alla famiglia delle Crassulaceae e si distingue per le sue rosette compatte di foglie carnose, disposte a spirale e spesso bordate di rosso. È una pianta estremamente rustica, capace di tollerare il freddo intenso, il sole diretto e lunghi periodi di siccità. Perfetta per giardini rocciosi, aiuole, muretti a secco o vasi decorativi, aggiunge un tocco naturale e ordinato anche agli spazi più difficili. In estate produce infiorescenze erette con fiori a forma di stella di colore rosa-violaceo che attirano api e insetti impollinatori, regalando una fioritura affascinante prima che la rosetta madre completi il suo ciclo vitale e lasci spazio a nuove piantine laterali.
