Cycas revoluta, comunemente conosciuta come palma di Sagoda o palma di sago, è una pianta arbustiva sempreverde dalla forma simile a una palma. Ha un fusto robusto e legnoso che cresce lentamente e può raggiungere altezze considerevoli nel corso degli anni. Le foglie sono lunghe, pinnate e di colore verde brillante, disposte a corona sulla sommità del fusto. Questa specie è nota per la sua resistenza e la sua longevità, ed è spesso utilizzata come pianta ornamentale in giardini tropicali e paesaggi urbani. Produce coni di semi su piante mature, aggiungendo un ulteriore interesse visivo.
È una pianta resistente alla siccità e tollera bene il calore, ma può soffrire se esposta a temperature molto fredde.
Il Cycas revoluta può produrre fiori, anche se sono spesso poco appariscenti e non sono il principale punto di interesse della pianta
