Il Leucanthemum × superbum ‘Maximum’, comunemente chiamato margherita gigante, è una pianta perenne erbacea appartenente alla famiglia delle Asteraceae, originaria dell’Europa. Presenta un portamento eretto e cespuglioso, con fusti robusti che sostengono foglie basali di colore verde intenso e leggermente lobate, formando una rosetta alla base da cui si sviluppano gli steli fiorali. La fioritura è abbondante e spettacolare: da fine primavera a inizio estate la pianta produce grandi capolini bianchi con disco centrale giallo brillante, caratteristici e molto decorativi, che attirano api e farfalle. Grazie alla rusticità, alla resistenza a diverse condizioni climatiche e alla facilità di coltivazione, il Leucanthemum ‘Maximum’ è molto utilizzato nei giardini ornamentali, nelle bordure miste e nelle aiuole a fioritura estiva, dove conferisce struttura, luminosità e un effetto naturale e allegro.
